sorry but I don't have a camera:
This is very small, grows in the deep woods, I believe its evergreen. The plants hardly clear the leaf floor. The leaves are toothed, twice as long as broad. Their main vertical center vein is white. I don't know how else to describe it.
If it's impossible to identify, I'll see if I can borrow a camera.

Nope

Not even close. I guess I should have also said the location is N.W New Jersey

O.K. the site is overseas but club moss is also found in your area. So is the plant over 12" or under, scale like needles similar to a cedar? Grows in clumps or alone? Pine forest or everywhere? What larger tree or plant does it closest resemble?

The plant is very small 4" or less. no needles, it has green toothed leaves that resemble rhododendren or mountain laurel.
The main characteristic of the leaves is a white colored verticle vein.

These plants do not have toothed leaves. You got me stumped.:pumpkin2:

Bingo!!

That's it, striped wintergreen.
I'm reading about it now. Very interesting.
Thank you very much.
