chainsaw bars

i am looking for a bar to use on my old 08s for ripping, and was wondering if you have to use specific bars for specific saws, or whether any oregon bar will do the job?

Any brand, as long as the mounts fit. Baileys probably has something on clearance.

okay thanks, was just a little confused because clark forest specify only 3 bars for the 08s, which i thought was pretty ridiculous
