I got a mint SEZ that was scrapped because the bar was bad. Feel bad for the previous owner who was probably swindled into a new saw.
Lots of saws are sidelined, shelved or tossed out just due to bad fuel that has ruined the fuel filter, line or rubber carb bits. A lot of the free saws I get just need fuel related parts but at shop costs for parts and labor a lot of owners just decide to buy a new saw, often times a lesser quality saw than what they already own.

I worked construction with a guy who would show up spotless every morning with slicked hair, a white t shirt, and blue jeans. The rest of us showed up somewhat clean on Monday and were probably dirtier that the equipment by Friday. He did have a way of getting out of physical labor though and he might even have had some dust on his clothes by the end of the day LOL.

I came home last night covered in dirt, sawdust, hydraulic oil, diesel, orange paint and probably some cow poo. One shirt sleeve, my back and half a paint leg was soaked. Had to drain the hydraulic tank on the processor so I could pull off the pump and suction hose.

I considered stripping down to my undies outside and just trashing my t shirt and jeans, I'm quite sure they are beyond washing.
Good thing I wear $15 jeans and not $150 ones!

When we"needed" a new washing machine I put the old one in the garage and plumbed it up. Now it washes rags ,overalls and oily clothes. Someone told me it will not handle hydraulic fluid and greasy rags but it was going to the recyclers anyway, and it hasn't stopped yet.

I used to use the washer in the apartment at the shop, but we rented it out about a year ago.

Q. Had to drain the hydraulic tank on the processor so I could pull off the pump and s. Q

Just fwiw for next time: put a shop vac duct taped to the breather port. it will hold enough vac and allow you to disconnect suction hose and plug it or if sae flange to clamp a blanking plate onto it.
still may get drainback from pressure or case drain lines but very minimal.
i've changed pumps on 500 gallon tank railroad equipment and lost maybe a pint.

I've done that too, but I'm still waiting on parts. I had to pull it apart to see what I needed first.
I have a ball valve to put instead of the plug in case I ever need to drain it again.

Had a customer come in yesterday...

"I need a blade for my saw"

What kind of saw? (We do have circular saw and Sawzall blades)

"It's a 16"

Uh.... you mean a chain? For a chainsaw?

"No, a blade"

So the bar? (I point to the chainsaw bars)

"No! A blade!"

And he pulls out of his pocket a loop of chain.

Ah, ok, a chain!

"No, that's a blade!"

:omg:

It's called a chainsaw for a reason.
"Bladesaw" just sounds weird...
