Chimney Flashing question

anyone ever try to put a 6\12 pitch flashing on a 7\12 roof ? I wonder if the 1% would make the 6\12 not work ?

It is not a 1% change. You have gone from 26.5 degrees to a bit over 30 degrees.

Do you have some pictures of where you are flashing? I did my chimney this year after having to do a major roof repair since the last people to flash my house did a terrible job. I didn't use specific pitch flashing but had my own bent custom which was very cheap actually.

the house we are going to put a new stove and chimney in has a 7\12 pitch roof, the old flashing we have was on a 5\12 roof ,
the old flashing was rated for 2\12 to 6\12 roof ..

Get a new flashing. I think I paid under $30 for mine.

I'm a carpenter it would work you might have to trim the opening down a little so the hole is bigger to allow for the steeper roof pitch. But brand new flashing for the correct roof pitch would be my #1 recommendation
