Nice but where is the picture showing how to cut the groove in the end of the bar?
Unfortunately, I didn't take any pics during the process. First, I layed out the centerline and reprofiled the bar with a vertical belt sander and roughed out the cut for the roller. I used the centerline as reference when I clamped it to the bed of the mill with the bar up on spacers and finished the cut out on the tip with a boring bar. Then, I used a 4" cut off wheel mounted in an arbor meant for a slitting saw to cut the groove and deepen the rail groove where needed. Mill max rpm is only 4,000 so it was slow going. It was a 1/16" cut off wheel but lucked out and it cut narrow.

A cutter for 1/16th key-ways maybe? I would like to see the set up myself just for fun.

Nice job.

edit: Cut off wheel. interesting.

I think a cobalt or carbide slitting saw would work. That old Mac bar was just too tough for the hss slitting saw I do have.
