Thanks! It works better than I hoped even. The internal brake in the winch is strong enough to actually hold and pull with it. Best part is I maybe have 5 or $600 dollars into the whole thing.Great fabrication and welding skills!
I like how that works.....the winch will so handy.

The videos show it. I cant find the pictures. I was more in get er done mode than documentation mode.Wish I could see the final pics
Well I hope it will be ok it's what it calls for. It 3/8 super swaged. Has a break strength of 20k. Its alot more bendable than it appears to be. Its whole selling point was it will take the extra abuse and not kink or crush. So far I'm happy. I used it for a few days dragging ash out of a big ditch for the neighbor. Itll pull and hold what the tractor will so I'm happy
I hope I’m wrong but, that wire rope may not be happy with that small of a drum. [emoji848]
If so, it will take a set and you will have constant trouble with curls.
The is a minimum diameter for each size and construction of wire rope.
I hear you. So far it's really a non issue. It only has the same pull strength as the tractor itself. My whole theory is to keep it light and compact to maximize the load the tractor can pull. So far it's been better than I could hope. Also being compact like it is I have the full range of the 3pt still. It allows me to lower it down and hook the chokers and raise the load and go. Also I can simply let it back down if it gets snagged or so I can maneuver better. I can keep the front end down but still have traction. If you're gonna be pulling on the tractor with the winch, I'd definitely recommend a set of legs or a blade like the skidding winches have. Helps keep some of the force off the tractor.
Thanks! Probably work pretty slick and save all the fab work I had to do.We have a heavy duty hay bale fork for the three point that we've been thinking about doing this with. Great job on the build!
