i'll give you a few hints. i paid the most for it. it is the fastest cutting of the lot. it is red. it would be the one YOU would be most disappointed in if it didn't start.

bah! i drained every one of them and ran them all dry in the spring. :bang:

honestly guys, i think it is just dumb luck....
it could have been any one of them.
the needle is stuck in the carb or something simple.

the dol-baby has been great so far. this is really the only major hang-up.

edit:
one other thing for you stihl guys.....
my dolmar sports a stihl bar, chain, and roller catcher. maybe it is implant rejection?

Tant no biggie, your carb is probably just dried out. Give it a small shot of fuel through the carb. Once she fires and gets to pumping fuel she'll take off, see it all the time with saws that have been run completely empty and put away for months...

taint no biggie... i agree.
i have already dumped some fuel in it and had it run for a few seconds, several times.... but it won't go on it's own. i think the needle is stuck... still no biggie.;)

it will take, repeat the process a few more times...

Yup yup, sometimes it takes a few attempts. I had a 026 come in a few weeks ago that was run dry and put away for over a year. I like to never got that thing started. After about the fifth try it spit and sputtered and finally striaghtened up and ran fne. A dried out carb is tuff to get going sometimes....

I'm no expert but against all things spoken by the saw gods. I've never stored a saw dry and never had any problem. Let the LASHINGS begin.

me too. my dad's 044 was put up wet for 3 years, about 7-8 pulls she fired, coughed, belched and then roared to life. course it IS a Stihl, what else would you expect?

Mine have never really sat for more thn a couple months but I also have never stored them dry, nor had any problems with them starting up.

Yup, thats a Stihl for you. ;)

Funny.
A Stihl is the only one I have that is cranky after sitting for more than a couple weeks.

It's also the only one that is hyper sensitive to fuel changes, and a bit of gorp on the air filter.

It's also the only one that costs 25 bucks for a dadgum fuel line and filter, because they are made of elasticized Gold and Unicorn farts.:D

I can leave the stupid POS Toro leaf blower, sit all year with fuel in it and it will start and run fine though...I HATE that damn thing.

Stay safe!
