Dolmar 7310 or Makita 7301

Been reading that the newer ones weigh a bit more and deliver a bit less on power, specs indicate a whole 0.1kW less.
Anyone who has run both notice any real difference between the new 7310/7910 and the old 7300/7900?
I have a stock 7301 that is just amazing and I have a chance to pick up a 7310 for a real good price.

I only have the original versions, pure 6400 & 7900 Dolmar's and I never had the chance to try out the "plugged" versions 7310 & 7910 - thus I can not offer any comparison opinion.
But, I have read that gutting the SLR muffler will revive the never generation to a certain degree.

I have my eyes on a PS-7310 for a while now, if it is still available by the time I have winter holiday vacation I will call the seller, ask for a small price reduction and go on a road trip to take a look at her!
It is not a need thing, but definitely a want thing.
