Hi all,
Thank you in advance for opinions on another problem tree!
This Dwarf weeping willow was planted last spring. It grew VERY quickly and the new weight bent it over. It is currently staked near the top, but there is still a significant bend in the middle of the trunk.
My plan is to improve the existing stake as well as add a shorter one on the opposite side to pull the bow out of the trunk. Does this sound reasonable? I am worried that the tree will be held so stiffly that the trunk will not be stimulated to grow more robust.
I also plan to prune and train the branches in such a way as to better balance the weight of the tree.
Thanks for any advice!
Adam
