echo 500 vl

got a echo 500 vl. been sitting for who knows how long. runs wont tune on high side. Too rich even with h screw closed. Tunes on L. Has walboro HDB carb. Can the gasket under the fuel inlet lever plate leek and cause fuel to run straight into the main port....Only thing I can think of looking at the carb. H and L screw have different thread pitch so cant be swapped. What got me on the carb is it runs like the transfer port welch plate not sealing on a Zima carb...any thoughts..

Sounds like you need to go through the carb .

ser # is 0054776 quizzed my local dealer bout flywheel related recall and they didn't know a thing....first thing comes up when a google 500vl...

A few folks here have been told about it here in the past, and have gotten a new saw. But it has been a long time back. I don't know if they still honor it since Shindaiwa came along.
