I have a 670 work saw and would like to up the power but not hurt reliability, any suggestions? I'm thinking of porting the muffler maybe, but I don't know how to go about it. Any help would be great. Thanks

This is what I did. I used the existing port and cut the inner tube going to the original port!!! I have since added a deflector over that opening to keep the exhaust from torching the chain brake handle!!!

thanks for the help, i'm going to try it Friday, check out my custom spikes I felt the stock ones were a tad inferior.

how did u remove the guts of the muffler, did you split in two? Just to let you know i am very new to all of this so i might seem a tad slow! and ignorant! so more detailed instructions would be great.
