Anyone have experience with the 60 volt models? Will they cut something with a diameter equal to the bar length, or do they get bogged down? Are they a legitimate replacement for a gas saw of the same size? (homeowner use, not professional,

It depends on bar length. The Stihl mse220 I had would cut a 20" log with no trouble. My old all metal Milwaukee would take a 16" piece of wood, albeit very slowly. My mse180 nor Makita would be happy cutting a 16" piece of wood. I doubt smaller powered saws would cut their bar length without issues. Now those Stihl E30's can run up to a 48" bar, and probably cut that too. Of course you need 3 phase and the powered alone is like 49lbs. I'm thinking none of the 60 or 120 volt battery saws are gonna like 16" wood.
