CAN YOU ESTIMATE HOW MANY CORDS I GOT FROM THIS TREE
Well I am done with the ash tree.
Before I give you the answer I though you guys would like to estimate the amount of cords I got from this tree.
The ash tree was about 30in across and about 105 ft long .
I will give you the answer in a couple days.

2.3 cords of split ash

I'll stick my neck out and estimate 2.3, depending on how many branches you saved. Once split, I think it would have filled my truck four times, almost cab high.

That ash is about the best firewood there is. Nice find.:greenchainsaw:

2.2-2.5 cords, if you used the whole tree. A 24" log, averaged over about 27 feet, will have 80 cubic feet of solid wood, which will be about 128 cubic feet when split and stacked.

The key is, what's the diameter at about 55 feet? If it's 16", it would take another 55 feet or so to make a cord.

I suck at these kinds of threads. I'll guess 1.33 - or somewhere in the 1.25 to 1.5 range.

I'm posting not so much for the satisfaction of being right or the shame of being wrong.

Mostly, I just want to be subscribed so I can see the pics of you hauling them rounds out of the woods in a golf cart.
