I got the rights to a firewood job yesterday from an elderly lady who had her property timbered about six months ago. After all the particulars were over, she told me to go ahead and drive all the log roads and get aquainted with the property(approx 300 acres). WOW! I have never seen a more professional job of timbering. Skid roads were leveled and seeded. Stumps were as close to level with the ground as can be. Tops were stress cut( relieved ) and limb logs removed. You would almost never know they were there but for the tops. There was as little waste as possible! The owner told me that one man did all the cutting himself, then ran the skidder to the landings. He had a contract log trucker pick everything up. Landowner does not even know his name as her sons handled the contract. My hats off to a master logger whoever he is!
