Helicoil thread repair 261 - cylinder cover screws stripped

Anyone know offhand what size thread that is? Maybe I'll see if I can get a little insert kit from Grainger.

M5 X 0.8 if I remember correctly.

+1 M5 x 0.8 Have done 2 of my 261's w/helicoil and red loctite.

Another for Timesert. Its walls aren't composed of wound wire like Helicoils and as such the walls of the insert will provide strength in their own right. IMHO it makes them slightly more appropriate in situations where wall thickness of the of the supporting metal is an issue.

Other solid inserts like Keyserts as suggested by Brad are excellent however they take out a little more meat in the supporting metal.

I ended up using a time sert and it worked well. I picked up a 395 xp with a similar problem (the price was good!) and it's getting a helicoil because I pooched up the attempt to drill and tap to OEM size.
