Are you saying someone named "Donald O'Shea" is the one who told them to cut down the trees?

This guy?
In 1974, he was elected as a Circuit Judge for the Fourteen Judicial Circuit of Illinois. He retired in January of 2000 after serving twenty-six years on the bench.

“Don” has been active in community theater since 1967, as an actor, singer, director, producer and playwright.

So simple question. Why did it take you so long to actually read post 90

The Jack Ass, would be more Enjoyable to be around, than Francis Dude G. Would be

Some how that doesn’t surprise me

Doug
Doug,

That is quite funny. I do believe that is the symbol the left wing uses is it not?

It appears that there are a couple large branches originating from the same area, as in too close together. Then the tree has bark inclusion between the branch and the trunk of the tree, hence little connecting from the branch to the trunk on the interior side of the branch. When the tree was young the branches were further apart, as the branches grew and became larger they grew into each other causing the branch to fail. Just one theory . . .

The simple fact is some trees need to come down as a matter of safety to life of people, protection of property and the health of other trees. As hard as it is to lose a "beloved" tree sometimes it is the best choice. Think about this. How many would prefer to choose your family dog alive that is either suffering or a serious danger to others?

Did the tree/trees the poster asked about need to come down? I have no idea because I am not there and no one else is either. It is hard to diagnose from behind a keyboard. You can make educated guesses based on the information provided, pictures posted, and your own honest experience but still you are not there. Does that mean your opinion is right or wrong? Well who knows.

I ask who among us have not seen trees left stand that should have come down years ago? Who among us have not seen trees taken down in the "name of progress" that should have never been taken down? The later generally occurs due to over regulation and overpowering by the government but that is simply my opinion.

Thoughts to ponder

I don't think anybody disagrees with that.

We don't know the circumstances of the OP's tree - who made the decision to keep it? Was it an intentional decision, or did they just run out of money in their tree budget so they left a high risk tree stand??? Nor do we seem to know very many details of the other tree that they were "told to remove" in IL. What were the qualifications of whoever told them? Did they have other people evaluate that advised a lower risk level???

Then if you truly believe what your statement says then why post judgements from a keyboard?. If you will really read what I generally write after someone fires off some half-based garbage that they read someplace on google I ask a question that involves "were you there". "are you there" "did you see it" and such. Those are not the exact terms but in the general vicinity of what I say. Many years ago when John asked me to join this site it was based on and participated by those who truly wanted to learn, educate, and just converse about a topic they were interested in. There were some EXCELLENT members and of course still are bue some of those excellent members have left because of all the nonsense and garbage advice folks have posted that have no real knowledge of a poster situation. Can you (and I mean all posters) HONESYLY tell me that you with no doubt know what is going on in Tennessee, New York, Illinois, or Australia if you are not PERSONALLY there. You can give a educated opinion based on your experience and based ONLY on what information the original poster chooses to provide. I am NOT sure about you but I will tell you when my doctor asks how much salt I consume I am not always the most forthcoming. Do you wonder if posters might leave details out? They may not do it intentionally as it is only their perception.

Just some random thoughts from what SOME like to call names other than my real name of Bill

I don't think I was passing any judgement. I asked "who" in response to your statement:

"The local county was told to cut two trees down at the courthouse. They refused then during the July 4th fireworks a large limb ame down killing two folks".

"Who" is very relevant as municipalities make these difficult decisions. I've outlined why in multiple posts. You stated just above that trees shouldn't be taken down sometimes are ("...Who among us have not seen trees taken down in the "name of progress" that should have never been taken down?...").

Here we are, 2 pages later, having only a name with no context. A sales specialist out of Bay Village Ohio??? Emeritus Professor of Physics at University of Oulu, Finland??? (not that a physicist can't be qualified to assess tree risk - Frank Rinn may be among the most respected - but he has a lot of experience in trees, not just physics).

So did I provide a very specific answer in post #90 to that question? I am not making an argumentative post I am asking a yes or no question.

Yes...specific, but also uninformatitive. I've outlined in at least 3 posts now why the "who" with more details than a name is meaningful.
I posted that the county was told to take down the tees. You asked by who and I answered who it was You did not ask for the persons qualifications nor do I know what they are nor does it matter in regards to what I said which was the county was told to take down the trees. Is this not what you said /I said. No reason to get upset, just simply is that the quick run-down?

no one is that stupid!!!!!!!!!!" Really?
:(
So glad you are 100% sure the op was a troll! Otherwise, I can't imagine why, with all the insults slung his/her way, any "real" person asking an honest question would ever come back here again.
I do know people that ignorant of a lot of things - and unaware of it. But yeah - none of us know everything - and a lot of people have never become convinced that there are things that far outside their ken, that maybe they should realize they really can know that little about something. Which *is* sort of dumb - at least google it and find out if there *any* potential reality in what comes to mind - but it doesn't mean troll, and it may not mean "stupid" as in overall dumber than a box of hair

Or it could - but probably shouldn't just assume it.
