In September I bought two columnar junipers from a local nursery and put them in the ground along my property line and they're doing very well. A month later I went back for a few more before it got cold out. The nursery was in the process of shutting down so the water lines were pulled from all their trees and when I got the two junipers home I noticed the ends of the branches had started to brown and I put them in the ground anyway thinking they'd green up. It's been just about two months and i've had plenty of rain and the color hasn't improved. The branches are not brittle so they're still alive, and i'm wondering if this is just some transplant shock on top of a few dry weeks. I planned on leaving them alone and letting them adjust but if there's anything I should do before the ground is frozen, any advice is much appreciated. Thank you!
