Hi my name is Claude,

i am a Stihl 066 Magnum running a 36" bar.

my owner, simmo, picked me up second hand.

i was for sale at a deceased estate auction.

who was the dead guy?

his name was Claude too!
(that's who i'm named after)

you see,

Claude was a retired policeman

lost the use of both his legs in a workplace assault.

Claude spent his declining years (wheelchairbound)

restoring broken stihl chainsaws etc...
(anything stihl).

when he passed,......

everything (including me)

was laid out on the back lawn for an estate sale.

thats when i first met simmo.

he was so excited!

he had just started his own tree business & was on a tight budget

he couldn't believe the bargains to be had.

chains, bars, tools, parts, & sundries

all going for next to nothing

once they started on the chainsaws, it got a little bit crazy

50-60 saws were auctioned off for a pittance

people were getting ugly!

thats when simmo first noticed the family

sitting quietly in the shade, under the verandah

watching

while everything Claude had worked for

was turned over and sold off to strangers!

simmo says,

after he seen that, he had to have me,whatever the price.

i've been a pretty good worker for simmo in the last 5 yrs

i've let him down a few times, but,

he understands.

i've heard him joking to his missus

that he could have bought 2 new saws for the price to fix "Claude"

but he would never get rid of me.

you see.............

simmo realises,

that one day he too will be Claude

and all his lifes work will be laid out on the back lawn.

with strangers poking & prodding

what will they see, what will they think

what will he have left for his children

it's because of this simmo asked me to write you

he would hope that all you fella's

go away and think about your legacy.

how will your family remember you?

how will the world remember you?

what mark will you leave behind?

no pressure or anything ha ha

anyway,

take care, stay safe

catch ya later

"Claude"

My name is Claude

Imagine that? such a cool thread, way to go simmo! My name is claude and was thinkin is this too good to be true? how can I be alive inthis thread? I bounce back and forth from thread to thread posting here and posting there. The gay threads as some like to call them, ain't that gay after all~ seems all the guys and gals here posting are all human and all hard workin folk, just like me. But sometimes I get sad, being stuck here in this way, I miss the cool mornings of spring...when I would start up my truck and load up the tools. Rolling my window down on the way to the woods, stoppin along the way to just take a pee, seeing my first robin of the year. yeah!!! but I hope y'all can get along, cuz yu know why? life is so short and yu just never know when yer time is up...heck, you know simmo says it well. My name is claude i will be talkin to y'all again real soon God bless!

Man great thread! rep being sent! Makes you wonder what the good lord will bring you in the near future!! Tomorrow could be our last day, it could be your wife or your girlfriends last day. Embrace, love everyone, god gave us a place in our brain to love he didnt give it to us to go around humping everything like raped apes. I guess alot of you guys could call me a girlie But its just the way life is, I have kept alot of things bottled up in my short time and regret telling people how i really felt. So tell your wife and kids you love them! Tell your neighbor how much you appreciate the times they have helped you Or wave at the person next to you at the stop light you dont know what they are going through they could be going through some tragedy a simple 5 seconds out of your life could brighten hours for another person!

Nice Shop .

Thanks mate.

as a footnote...

the vice that's holding the saw up, belonged to claude as well.
Claude actually worked in the logging industry in his younger years.
(hence the love affair with chainsaws)

He joined the police force a bit later in life.
Serving in a small country town
Apparently he evicted a drunk from the local pub one night
who later came back with 3 friends
and took to him with an ax handle
this is how he lost the use of his legs.

From all accounts he was a bit of a "character"
old claude
r.i.p.

cheers
simmo
