Homelite 360 Smokes?

A question for the Homelite guys...

I have a 360 that starts and runs like a champ but fogs like a crop duster. The muffler appears to be puking bar oil.

What do I need to check?

Sounds like the oil pump seals are bypassing letting bar oil into the crank case. Remove oil pump and replace o rings. Fairly easy to do. Same thing happened to me with an echo saw. Had the same symptoms.

Is the rubber/metal line that feeds the oiler broken? Take the side cover and bar and chain off, run the saw and see if the oil is making it out of the oiler hole. Could be leaking out somewhere along the way and dripping down onto the muffler. Part of the muffler runs along the bottom of those saws.

Nope. 350/360 use a gear driven pump. Only duckbills are the ones inside the gas and oil caps used for one-way vents.
