Homelite super 2 ?

Was given said chainsaw it has a zama carb but has a primer gas cap on it. A new one is expensive can I just plug it and replace lines and kit the carb it has a 14 inch bar which seems optomistic. I know it's a crap saw so trying to keep parts at around 20 bucks I have repaired a Mac 6 before another crap saw any advice.

Yes you can skip the primer cap. Those saws are somewhat problematic but the Super 2 is the largest displacement model of the 3 versions made. They often run a 16" bar but I'd say 14" or shorter is better.
