I hope that all of you ,using horse manure, are aware of a nasty thing living in the guts of all horses and there's plenty of it in their manure also .
It's latin name is Clostridium tetani.

Take care not to puncture or cut yourselves deeply enough ( where is lack of oxygen at the skin and muscle tissue ) ,when working at your garden.

Before a century ago ,when the use of horses for transport was still common, stepping onto a nail which came off from a horseshoe ,
could prove to be fatal .

(...)Tetanus is a potentially fatal disease characterized by muscular spasms caused by a neurotoxin produced by the bacterium Clostridium tetani. These organisms, and their spores, are found in the intestinal tract of horses and other species and are abundant in the soil, where they can survive for many years. The spores can enter open wounds, particularly puncture wounds, where they proliferate under the right conditions.(...)

Tetanus hasn't been an issue since the vaccine came out however many years ago. Besides that, it's is totally unrelated to a certain type of dung, you can get it from regular old dirt, rusty metal etc. Realistically you stand a better chance of getting hit by a car then having to worry about tetanus.

Wow, they talk bad about chicken waste too.
Wonder if rabbit manure is evil too.
I have worked with all three, plus cow/steer & pig manure growing up on the farm.
I think I am doing good for 62 years old, unless, hard work cause Afib.

I started using BT on the squash this year after borers killed them last year early on. I mix 1/2 tablespoon of the 85% bt mix in with a quart of water. I then use a syringe to inject about 10cc's of the mix into 2-3 leaf stems filling up the hollow centers. The plant takes takes in the micyllius with the water making the plant toxic to the borers ad leaf eaters. My plants have already been attacked by borers showing holes in the stems but show very little effects in growth or production. I use two cap fulls mixed in a gallon of water as a spray on caterpillar killer. It seems to kill a few hours after application.

Thank you for sharing your experience, it is truly valuable! Unfortunately, creating compost can take you a long time. By the way, a compost catalyst can significantly optimize this process. Plus, you can make it at home yourself. At one time, this article helped me a lot with this.
