It will spin, but not thread out.

Does it need to be forced out? Is it just a snap in fit? The replacement part is a threaded type... so replacement is fairly straight forward, if the old one could be removed.

Lordy, I'm sorry, Ich, I'd totally help you out on this one. I have three busted handles at home that I'd experiment on in a second. Regrettably, I'm on the road and I won't see the place for a week or so.

Could someone else help Ich out?

Ill try the screw trick... is it just set in with an O-ring?

No worries andre... I gots time, nothin but time

Check this thread...Grande Dog has a link in post #6 to a service bulletin for a replacement vent. It shows the friction fit.

i ordered a replacement yesterday. i haven't taken the saw apart, but as cheap as this part is, i decided to go ahead and replace it.
do you know if you have to seperate the handle and tank portion to get to the vent? i did a cursory check, but the leak i have was minor and the saw run fine as-is, and it was not worth the time to do a more in-depth check saturday morning.
