The big Husky chop saws have the same setup. Went to one of the area Husky dealers that does more pro work than the others around here and their main mechanic is pretty good. Had him scratchin' his head, too. Pulled out a K1260 carcass and a brand new K1260 and could not figure out how the throttle catch holds together. Nothing is available on Husky's tech site that he could find, either. Starting to look like it's a press fit possibly done before the tank halves are fused? I tried to splay the pin with a punch to secure the knob/boss over the spring as someone suggested but needed two more hands.

I can't believe this isn't a common issue with these saws. Seems like they'd be popping loose all the time.
