I found this thread, after inspecting an 076 that looks to be crumbling a bit. I wish I knew how far was too far gone. I think there should be a magnesium Bondo® epoxy matrix that can be used to restore disintegrating cases. These old saws are too wonderful to be allowed to dissolve...

Someone who's good with a TIG welder can weld up bad parts
