Husqvarna 576 w/Broken Muffler Bolts

Hello. I have a husqvarna 576xp with broken muffler bolts. Both broke and have about 2 or 3 threads worth sticking out of the head. I need to remove them but wanted some ideas.

I was thinking the following. 1. Welding nuts on them. 2. Bolt extractor. 3. New head. Thoughts?

Weld nuts on, and unscrew. Simple.

Hopefully that's simple. I've tried it in the past with mixed results

Well little update. There was just enough on each stud to weld nuts onto. I welded them on, let them cooled and they unscrewed. I was really surprised as I have tried this in the past with less than stellar results.
