tyring to figure out what saw i have. think it's a 288xp
I recently purchased a used saw from a guy who said it was a 288 xp. after recieving it i found out he didn't tell the truth about it's condition and now i wonder if it's even the model he said it was. the only number i have to go by is the number on the tag. it does not say the model number, but only the serial number.
the number is "6423 76" It was supposed to be in great condition but when it arrived it looked pretty rough and needed some ignition work. i decided to do a compression test and it maxed out at 115psi. cold. I am assumeing that it will need at least a piston and ring but don't want to order anything till i know what model and year to order for. can anybody help?
Thanks.
Allen.
