Husqvarna XP

I have located a used huxqvarna xp for sale. The owner is not sure of the model. By the pictures I would say it is either a 298xp or a 2101xp but if it is the chainbrake is missing. He is asking $175. Says the saw is in good condition. Is it worth buying. Were there any xp's produced that did not have a chainbrake.

i think both the 298 and 2101 came with chainbrakes, at least all the ones i have seen had them.

It appears to me that the chainbrake has been removed. The saw is listed on colorado springs graigslist pictures can be seen there. I do not know how to post the link to craigslist.

Yes, it looks like the chain brake handle has been taken off.

Id say its a 2100 or 2101. $175 is a good deal if its good running.

The serial plate should tell what the saw is. On my 2100 the serial plate has Husqvarna 2100cd on it............454

The cover may have been changed.
It was changed on my my 2100cd, the PO put an XP cover on it. I wasn't sure what I had until I found 2100cd on the serial plate..........454

My son is visiting in Colorado he is going to go take a closer look at it if it not alredy sold. If it runs good I think I'll have him get it.
