I recently finished milling about 300 bdft of maple (5/4), however, I have run out of room in my outdoor drying shed. I currently have it filled with 5/4 and 6/4 maple, walnut, and cherry. This has been under the canopy (plenty of open air) for about 6 months. Is it safe to now move it indoors, sticker it, and let it finish drying? I want to maintain the slowest drying possible, but I'm in a bind with the need for more room. I was going to recalculate how much more I could fit under the canopy, but thought it easier to move it and restack inside. Either way I go, I will have to empty the canopy, stack the wet at the bottom and then restack the drier wood on top. This summer I am planning on making a larger shed to dry under as I have close to 1000 bdft of oak and cherry waiting in the form of cants and standing timber and I can only fit so much under the current canopy.
