Is it worth getting a Furnace or settel with a Stove?

Well, technically, if'n ya put a jacket and plenum on your stove and tied it to the rest of the duct work...
That seems vaguely familiar....hmm, where have I heard of doin that before...?

I would put the stove on the first floor and it will heat the upstairs too.

Since this thread is still going - I think the thread title deserves a second look.

'...or settel (sp) with a stove.'

So the OP seems to sort of imply that if a stove is selected, he will settle with the results - i.e. there might be shortcomings. Given the very reasonable costs of a very good furnace these days (have seen link to a Tundra lately for under $1500 - not many good stoves out there that cheap), I don't see reason to settle with anticipated shortcomings of a stove.

Has the OP been back lately?
