Is what my cousin said. A little background. The saw in question is Mac Eager Beaver 2014. I traded it to him for a Craftsman 3.7 (poulan 3700) yeah I know. But in my defense the Mac ran and the 3.7 needed a carb kit:dizzy:. Anyway, he liked mac for small stuff but partly out of guilt I decided to give him a better saw and take the Mac back. I gave him an '85 Poulan S25DA. Its kind of funny cause I think that saw will give his primary saw (Stihl MS290) a run for its money....I got the mac and tried starting it as is. No luck. Emptied the fuel and found this. So I called him and said "DUMP THAT FUEL MIX NOW!!!!!! AND WHATEVER YOU DO DONT PUT IT IN THAT S25DA!!!!" I left this in a voice mail. I hope he heard it. So I flushed the carb and lines, runs good now. Heres what I took out.

Wow, that's half water. I've seen water in the fuel a bunch of times but never that much....

I recently acquired a couple of those Macs...It seems people just get rid of them when the fuel lines go bad and the primer bulb cracks. On both of mine I bypassed the bulb and epoxyed a piece of aluminum over the hole left when I took it out. They start just as well without the bulb. I hate to admit it but I like these saws better than the metal Beavers.

Does nitro always settle to the bottom?

that may explain why i been shipping tons of push primer bulbs for them smaller macs

Was any explanation offered as to where all the water came from? That seems like more than just atmospheric accumulation...

ouch... never saw fuel that watery.....

or did you take a sample of gulf coast water and see if anyone would pick up on it? :monkey:

Here's my best guess- I've seen a few people leave their gas cans outside with either loose or cracked lids on them.:dizzy:

sounds like my brother, which is why when i cut trees with him, I never use his mix... I'll always take my own container and if run out, I'll go get more.

Why not replace the bulb ?
only like $2 ??
all the same size no matter where you get them..

this reminds me of the time I went to get gas in my truck, as I was paying the pumping the gas, this guy was trying and trying to start his car, so after i was done, i got in mine, started it up, drove to the end of the parking lot and she cut right out... that was when i noticed that every other car there was DOA and there was an angry mob at the cashier window...it seemed they got a shipment of water and I had just bought about 20 gallons worth!!! $400.00 later I got my truck back and it took another 2 months to run down the gas company for reimbursment.
