I do a lot of 'little things' to keep up the equipment used by some of the storm clean up groups that I volunteer with. A few years back, I posted a 'frugal' way to improvise bar sheaths:

A special problem we had was the loss of the sheaths / scabbards from pole saws, that often hang out the back of trucks on the freeway. This short video summarizes a simple leash or tether to reduce this loss.
