Lit my new furnace

Good morning all,

Have not posted in a while--my new furnace was installed last April.

I bought a DR Stoves 400--biggest one I could find--200K+ BTU--advertised at 86% efficient. Amish built in PA--800 pounds.

Had it professionally installed rather than me 'rigging' it like my last one.

Already up to 67 degrees after 1 1/2 hours or so. Its 33 degrees outside today--

I had a Clayton previously--was told it was much less efficient. My stove pipe to the flue is MUCH cooler to the touch.

How many hours should I be able to get with this? The installer tells me 8--however I was told the Clayton would last 8--it lasted maybe 2 before it was out of wood.

Anything new I need to know? Advice? Really want to set this thing before I leave to work and come home to a warm house.

Do you mean DS Machine Stoves Kozy King 400-09??

They burn on a grate, claim 85% efficiency, secondary after-burn... but I don't believe they're compliant with the new and upcoming EPA certifications for furnaces (not that it matters).

Not sure on burntime but congrats on the new purchase. Hope it gives many good years of service.
