Ice and snow still on everthing here, But about 40F and no wind
wanted to mess around with my saws. So went and fell 2 small
dia Post Oak. Milled with two saws on the smaller side today. ;)

See Pics. This was just for fun, but I think I did learn a thing or two
from it. And you mite get a chuckle out of it

Hey, I think those 200t'S are little a$$ kicker saws. I find myself using mine for jobs probobly a little to big but I love the one handed operation.

Well how did they do Trigger?

Well, I was hoping someone would ask.

As I said in "Things are a little slow" thread I'm going to mill
some very small dia Post Oak. Have been using my 066
to mill with, but on small stuff it has to much power
(you won't here me say that very much) it will be 4-stroking
in the cut, unless I really push it fast, to slow the power head
down some. I was reading in the Logosol info, it talks about
pushing to hard on a small cut. (to much pressure on a small
area on the bar. It makes sense to me. So I ordered a Stilh PICCO
bar and sprocket for my 026, should have been here yesterday
But with the snow and ice UPS did'nt make, will get next week.
Got to thinking about it today and thought I would play some.

Used the 026 with a 16" B&C .063 RM chain.

200T with 16" B&C .050 PICCO 63PM chain

In the pics below the 026 took 42 sec to make cut it about
3.5 inches wide not counting the bark

200T took 55 sec 4 to 4 1/2 inches wide not counting bark
and going through the heart wood and knots

They done so well I'm going to be look for something like
a 028 or 041 for this. But the if the PICCO works as good
as I think it will, I may just use the 026. The Pieces are
49 inches long

Ive got an 041 that I have used to mill with a little. I cut some cherry that was about 12 to 14 inches across and was really suprised at how well the saw did. Its not a speed demon but it is sure hard to bog down. They have a couple on ebay right now and I dont think that they are a very expensive saw. But with the times you were getting in that smaller stuff I dont think that I would bother. Good luck.

dusty, I have my eye on a nice 028 super for $220 that with
the Picco B/C would be about perfect for the 6 inches or less
wide cuts. And I think this setup will work really well for rough edging

I'm really liking this little mill table, today I left it on the cart.
screwed a 2X on one of the legs on the high end so it won't
see saw on me.

And two more pics of the table.

Looks like your having fun Trigger. Ever since I got my Alaskan I havent wanted to do anything but slice up wood. My woodshop looks like a chainsaw repair shop with everything laying around. I noticed the snow in your pics, my mother lives in Kansas City and she said you guys were getting hit. Personally I can live without the stuff. Have a great day and good luck with everything.
