Log grading/scaling

I know sawmills/loggers have their own system of grading etc but is there any short courses being offered to teach the basic of grading and scaling?

I don't know about Iowa but here in NH the State has a short course a few times a year for grading and scaling,check with your local forestry division there.So did you ever buy that loader you were looking at??

thanks again for the info....didn't buy loader...didn't think it would have been a smart move for that kind of money and condition it looked to be in
