Log splitter hydraulic question

Just built a splitter, used it for about 5 cords with no issues.
Recently the cylinder will not retract.
Push power is normal just no retraction.

New cylinder, valve, filter has about 10 hours run time. Fluid level good and is clear.

Any help or ideas appreciated.

Faulty control valve most likely. A rare possibility a in disconnected piston in the cylinder.

Any idea what goes wrong with them?
Seem pretty simple internally.

Could be a small piece of debris limiting movement of valve. On some valves there is a small threaded adjustment rod that could break or be out of adjustment.
With the cylinder there is a nut that holds the piston to the rod, if the nuts comes lose it will cause the cylinder to bypass fluid on the return stroke. This is a rare occurrence.

What thread sealer did you use?

Teflon tape has been known to cause problems with hyd valves.

Used rectorseal, aware of issues with Teflon tape.

Australian hardwood - no ugly wood - all burns at the same temperature but needs real equipment to cut & split
