Mac 10-10A mystery washer.

Stripped paint off of bar, pull start cover and separated clutch safety bar/side cover. When washing off the citristrip, I found this in the grass. I looked at a diagram but I don't see it. I also looked at another 10-10, but not very closely. Anybody have an idea ? Sure looks like it belongs in the saw as a special washer.

People often put washers over the bar studs so that when the bar nuts tightened down the clutch cover did not get chewed up by the shoulders of the bar nuts.

So, this washer goes over the screw hole that is used to join the clutch cover and safety handle. A slight impression was left in the magnesium from compression of the washer prior to separation.
