Went to start the Mac 250 today. On the second pull, it started to fire....but didn't.
Problem: I'm holding the start handle in my hand, the starter cord has broken.
"Ok. Fine, no big deal" I've fixed this problem a hundred times on lawnmowers. So I took the recoil starter apart on the Mac...
[not my laptop....my chainsaw! :msp_biggrin:]
[sorry-]
Anyway, when I tried to rewind the cord on the metal spindle that held the cord, I couldn't find any spring resistance. I have the owners manual and the parts list, and I cannot see how it would be any different from the recoil on any other chainsaw or lawnmower.
Broken recoil spring?
John Luc Picard: "Thoughts?"
