Is the chain the right gauge for the bar? Is the bar bent? Is the oiler working? It's adjustable, maybe it's turned down... Is the chain sharper on one side, causing it to lean over as you cut?
It's the right chain,it is getting good oil, bar bent I dont know .

You can sight down the bar to see if it is bent or twisted?

Sometimes the groove can get squeezed together and pinch the chain, that could cause some sparking!

Got a 6401 from HD the same way. I put a stihl yellow chain on it and it is a freaking animal. Have seen sparks before on both my saws, not sure why either.

I think Saw Troll is right. My Makita/7900 dwarfs my 2171 jonsered and my 036 pro. I just don't see the point of having a big heavy saw unless it has the cc's to match.

The point for me was $185 for one and $165 for the second.

Reading here I thought I would have to upgrade immediately. After running them in oak I decided there was no reason to upgrade until I wear out the 64cc top end.

Then again the same has been said about the Dolmar 420. Bought one brand new for $175.
