maple trees

I have pulled many maple seeds off a tree and let them dry about two or three months will they grow and what is the best way to start them ?

Plant them in a layer of potting soil about 1/2" deep. Keep the soil ever so moist. Don't overwater. Once they sprout you can mist them with a bottle sprayer as they grow. A big flat plastic seed growing pan that you can get at the hardware store will work until they get big enough to transplant into pots.

Mother Nature

just drops 'em on the ground (bare dirt) and they sprout. Clear a spot so the ground is bare, spread 'em around and stomp on 'em (for better soil contact). Water if necessary.

Does it matter what kind of maple? What about the red maple hybrids (Red Sunset, October Glory, etc.)
