The piston also has three rings in the model 99 which I have seen in ipls but that cylinder is very weird it doesn't even look like it's sleeved at all just looks coated. ?? Maybe they chromed some later model's but seems to early for chrome no??

Ya Tim it looks perforated and I've also seen pistons knurled in the big old pioneer saws. It's just odd cause this cylinder seems stock but should be a cast sleeve

This old chainsaw. Com has the ipls. Gonna go pull that jug off the bottom end so I can see the part #

Same part # but clearly not the same cylinder the 99 also has larger ports

Have you looked in the exhaust port of your brother's 99 heimannm.?

Just curious if it has three rings and a cast sleeve both of these are 2.5'' but the 99 is not sleeved just perforated and chromed. Yet same part #

It the number cast or stamped on part the actual part number or perhaps just a casting number?

Other parts like the connecting rods, pistons, etc. often had a number on them that did not reflect the IPL part number.

Both cylinders have the numbers cast on them they are pt 24023 and that is the # the ipl shows

Need some advice PM700

I'm getting a few saws in good working order for the NY GTG.
I have a fuel tank leak. That's easy to fix. The rear part of the tank cover which covers the carb box was sealed with something that looked like silicone or some other caulking material. It came off in pieces so there's no chance of using it again.

Suggestions as to what would be suitable as a sealer for this area would be appreciated.

A little late now but maybe worthwhile down the road. (The Kentucky guy.) He's establishing quite a selection.
