Milled Maple

Took a maple tree down Monday with around a 48" base. Had rot at the very bottom which was spreading up the trunk. I trimmed it back until it seemed decent and milled it up. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. Got about 8 slabs out of it. Some year in the future they'll turn into something beautiful.

Wow, Awesome grain. I can only hope that the maple logs I have on my trailer have that much character!
