Some are 24” wide or more and 4.125 thick. I put a straight edge on each time and check for flatness and plane with my axe. Probably get a hand planner soon
Going back soon for the 3’ wide trunk to make some beans and probably make some slabs with no live edge, maybe keep a couple with live edge depending on how strong I’m feeling to put them in the truck
Bark/wood don't look like the black cherry we have here in the east, looks more like black/sweet birch. Did it smell like wintergreen? I know those are not native to PNW
Never been to the left coast so don't know what cherry grows there? Pin cherry is mentioned.
