MS 461 Outer Spike

Does anyone have Stihl's part number for the outer spike. My parts guy ordered what he thought was the correct one, but it doesn't line up with the inner spike. Thanks

You need to purchase the set, there is no outer dawg that lines up with that stock inner.

Ordering the part number above is going to get You this.



Which obviously won't line up with your inner.

Skip the stock Spikes/Dawgs : they Suck.

Call Madsen’s & tell them you want the 4 point Dawgs for a 461R.

You are correct: All the 046/460/1 are different from the other Stihl saws.

Well..the inner is the same as the 440/1 and 660/1

Just the outer is different on the 460/1

I believe you are correct because the one's on my 660 are smaller. I probably should switch them.

The pro safety Dawgs? They're pretty common to see here with most shops carrying them but then again Madsen's is an hour. If they're like most of those Dawgs they can be a bugger if you don't have thick bark to dawg into or swing your bar for a face.

I have interchanged west coast dogs between a 660 and 460 before. Seemed to work just fine but I admit, I never took a gander from above to see if they lined up correctly or not. I just know they bolted in with no problems.

460 and 461 bucking spikes are different. the 461 pto side crankcase is longer. the inner oem west coast is the same as the 044 ms 440/441/046/460. i have run oem's and both pro safety 4pt and 5pt. i like the pro safety 5pt the best
