I saw the real beam machine on YouTube, but I couldn't help but notice some flaws in its design. It seems very cheap. I decided to make my own, mainly because im very cheap and paying for that stuff is dumb when I can make one for free.

I went with some 6" C channel so that my mill will ride on a 2x6, and it's 16" in length.
Everything is beefed up compared to the original, and I'm sure it will pay off in the end.
A bearing connects the clamping device to the mill body. Even though the original rotates on threads, I figure that any side to side action will not help for straight cuts, so I opted for a bearing over threaded rod.
I used an oversized clamping screw, as opposed to the tiny, square headed bolts that are used on the original.

All in all its stupid simple, and could make for some fast work! Anyone else make their own beam machine?
