I had a 346XPne and loved the power and light weight. Unfortunately I crushed that saw (stupidity). Anyway I hated the handlebar angle of the Husky. I do like my Stihl and Jonsered. So what model of Stihl or Jonsered would best replace the 346? I want the same thing I had in the 346, a very strong and light saw to run a 16" bar with authority. I have a Jonsered CS2171, so the big stuff is covered, I just want a plenty strong limbing saw with good anti-vibe. Considering MS280 or CS2152. If any of you dealers can get me a Jonsered CS2153 (equivalent to 346XP) that would definately be my first choice. Any help greatly appreciated.

I'm sorry it's gonna be mentioned sooner or later and I just love it... 5100S Dolmar. The other answer you'll get is 361 stihl. Dolmar is a good replacement for your 346 though... I know it's not a stihl or Jons but it's very nice. the 2153 is a good pick as well from what I've seen. Or another 346

Always remind the closed minded to open themselves to bigger and better things :greenchainsaw:

If you can't find a 2153, take a close look at the 5100S.

I prefere the NE346xp to the 5100 for limbing, as it is more agile both in handling and trigger responce, but that's just me.
The Dolmar has an inboard clutch and higher max rpms, if you care.

The Dolmar also is a tad heavier than the Husky, and the MS280 even heavier (pretty close to the MS361).

Just gassed up the 2153 yesterday

A good stout little saw

I will be trying the 3/8ths on it today as the .325 Oregon left me wanting a bit out of the box.........I look forward to Oregon doing the same changes on the .325 that they did to the 3/8ths line

Straight angle 2153

If you like the straight handle, the CS2153 is the one to buy. I agree with your comment on the 346XP angle, it's too sharp. If it had the Stihl 260 angle it would be just fine !

9 out of 10 prefer (not talking about AS fanbois here) the 346xpNE to the 5100 and think it cuts just as fast or faster. you do the math, 2153 is your saw. oh by the way the 5100 sounds meaner because it revs higher but does not cut any more making some think it is the faster saw.

husky/jred = more saw = more money.

Tell him to buy one of those Echo saws, hr will be real happy then
Just kidding, if he owned one of those he would come back and beat your arse for even mentioning it to him........lol

The 2153 is a lot of money north of the 45th. But hey ! I had to get one. No regrets. Just like a first love. The other saws feel neglected. Same handle bar, handle, clutch cover, guide bars, chains, etc. Different engine, carb is a Zama. It really has a nice buzz when you let it sink into hardwood..

LMAO! i would say yes. what a clown!

"Here is your chance to own one of the hottest saws on the market! This is a husqvarna 346XP new edition. The saw has only had 4 tanks of fuel through it. I pinched it in a cut and when I cut it loose with another saw the tree came down on this one. I know, my stupidity. Anyway this saw will need a new gas tank, muffler, handle and chainbrake. The top cover may have some cosmetic blemishes, but it is still useable. Total repair costs should be $120-$150. This is an amazing saw! It turns 14,700 rpm and that makes for a very smooth, fast cut. If you know anything about chainsaw then you already know how great this saw is. If you have never ran a saw of this quality you will be amazed. Saw retailed new for about $460 when I bought it. This is a no reserve auction so bid to win. Good luck."

all lies and i suspect the saw has more damge than you disclosed. i cant imagine the angle of the damage depicted there being no cylinder/case damage.

LoL! you should have said, here is you chance to win what is left of one of the hottest saws on the market.

this is exactly the type of thing we dont need.
