I run a 25" ES on mine and it's a little nose heavy. The saw pitches forward when sitting on a level surface. The 24" bar might be just about perfect balance wise.

I have a 28" on mine. It will pull it in dry oak. It is not nose heavy in the cut.

guess it depends on what your cutting. all I have is a 20" and a 18. most of the time the 18" is whats on it.

I see some advice for short bars for your 460.
True story here I have one with a 34 inch bar and one with a 36 inch bar.
Oh yeah it can handle it.

I would go with the 28" to start. Good mid size bar that would do most things. Later you could get a 32" and a 20". Then you have the best of all possibilities. But a green light on the 28" to start.

Put Stihls big spike kit on it and it will sit level w/ the 25" bar.
