NIB Stihl 044 !!!

I have an 044 that I bought in 88, it came with a black lever and no baffling at all in the muffler.

This is European and has no spark arreststor screen either.

The year/month of manufacture is molded into most of the plastic parts (usually a round clock-like manufacturing stamp)...

IMHO the 10mm 044 is the best saw Stihl has ever produced.

I was going to say the same thing , I’d rather have this saw that 10 of their new saws.

If you convert and use it, the AM (new OEM color the same) plastics for the HD filter style conversion do match fairly well. Not perfect, but darn close.

have had 2 nib saws. pretty temptin to run/use em. even tho there's good used ones for that...
one went to a guy that wasnt gonna run it, but did put it together.
other was gonna get run by new owner.
lookin at boxes got old.

Brad shared a photo of his 'collection'. He has lots of saws that look brand new up on a shelf. It all looks like a waste to me. I suppose people collect all sorts of things: to each his own. At least he is not collecting garbage or his poop.

I’d port it and run the piss out of it ! Or sell it to someone else who would ! Why leave a gem like that sitting round gathering dust?

Going back a number of years, I was looking at bikes specifically to park some investment $'s into and was offered a very good deal on a never uncrated '47 Indian Chief.
I knew it was a good opportunity but had to decline as I didn't think I could handle just leaving it in that state...
