Handy to be able to drive your pick-up right to the tree. I cut just behind my house, so I never have to go far, and usually pull the wood to my stacks with my ATV. All summer long I pay attention and mark Oak trees that are dead so I go back and harvest them in the cool weather. Yesterday I cut down this nice 18" dead Red Oak, and got to use my new GoPro camera strapped to a nearby sapling for a quick video.
On the ground and bucked. I'll split and stack at a reasonable pace this week:
I'm sold out of firewood for this year, so I'm restocking for next. I found dead Red Oak split and stacked in the open seasons nicely in a year.
