I promise it is just one load. I was using a regular wheel barrel until my son busted out the bottom (plastic) by taking jumpshots at the wheel barrel from 10 ft away instead of just stacking it in there. I saw something like this in a movie a long time ago and figured that if I made just narrow enough to fit through the door I'd be able to load three rows of wood and save a few trips.

I hadn't measured it before but I knew I could move a cord from the driveway down to the stacks fairly quickly. Now I know it's only 7-8 trips.

I'd first like to thank God, for giving me the strength to move those heavy loads and not enough brains to know better than to try.

Next I'd like to thank my dad, for a decade of training with a wheel barrel that nearly weighed empty what mine does loaded, with the original steel wheel. I'd not be half the man I am today had we used an air filled tire.

I'd also have to thank my family who now require that the indoor temps be maintained at 75+ degrees regardless of the outdoor temps.

And finally I'd like to thank my fellow AS posters who encourage and enable my wood addictions.

I had a feeling once I posted this everybody would scurry on out and start heaping logs into thier barrows. Nice to see you all have a dry supply brought in ( and so quickly), you can thank me later.:)

I have to tune my barrow up, its loose all over and missing some bolts. I do have a solid wheel on that one but am wondering if you put enough of that spray foam insulation stuff in the tire of a regular barrow wheel how well it would work. If we ever got a flat tire on a mountian bike and didn't have a spare or other means to fix it on the trail we would stuff leaves and such in there, it worked, barely.

As you stated in the original post, it is kinda lame, but the way things have been going for me I'll take a victory (no matter how silly or insignificant) any way I can. The only bad part was explaining to my wife why I was taking pictures of the wheel barrel.

The pneumatic wheel works good for the wheel barrel but I like the foam idea for my handtrucks. I move heavier stuff with them and often suffer from flats. I'll have to try it on the next flat and see how it works.

I've taken some pics of things for various forums and my wife asked me the same thing. When I explaind the concept of "pics or it didn't happen" she just shook her head and walked away muttering somthing about "guys".:hmm3grin2orange:

I haven't lost a load yet though.

I knew it was going to happen when I wrote it.

Bringing in a similar load to the one I posted on my magnificent one wheeled wood mover, (what I posted is representative of what I usually bring in at one time) up the ramp, in the rain, without enough sense to place the plywood dry-side-up, both feet went out from under me and not having mastered levitation yet, there I lay prostrate before the unmerciful god of gravity. Him, and the much lauded 1/7 cord of wood previously loaded upon the aformentioned wheeled barrel. Being of strong stock and sturdy of stature naught but my pride was injured. I did, however, land hard enough, (when coupled with the pummeling of 18 +/- cubic feet of wood) that I had to lay there and do a quick systems check (don't pretend you've never done one) before I decided to move.

Pride surely does come before the fall. Not that I won't continue to move wood in the same amounts and in the same way...I'll just make certain that my footing is more sure in the future.

LOL, Only on AS can you get 54 post and four pages and over 1800 views on a thread about wheelbarrows. I can't wait to load mine up again. But i gotta figure out a way to beat Strongback. Gonna be tough with his modified barrow. HEY, That's it . We should have two or three classifications. Like stock and modified and anything goes barrows. Okay i need to go find something to do. I know, I will bring wood to the house with my STOCK wheelbarrow.LOL

I don't have a pic of my barrowing wood. But I would like to say, not sure if it's the computer I'm on but Dan's pics fit in the screen for the first time.
Every time I load my wheelbarrow I tell myself, "it will get done just as fast if you load less. And every time I load to the hilt. Why do we do that?:bang:

I also think that there should be classes. Stock, modified, and one for the two wheeled ones too. Pictures or video of the rig being moved would be helpful too. Anybody can stack a bunch of wood on a wheel barrow, but how about moving it? There's also the terrain, ice, and snow to factor in.
