Sounds like just a new version of the 543 then......:msp_rolleyes:

No no... Completely different chassis, looks similar to the 4700 5000, and the older 4600, 4900 and 5200, although the old ones had a different air filter set-up!
I Almost bought a P 5300, before I knew of AS.

The 5000 was also available as the "Formula 60 PLUS" , all black 60 year anniversary saw.

Guess the original 500/5000 chassis is forever gone!

okay heres my P55 this is my ride around in my truck just in case saw. while I was cleaning this up I noticed that the CYL looked nearly identical to a K650 I grabbed a old one off a 650 and it bolted right up so now its got a ported k650 jug it really cuts great now that I got the carb dialed in.

Thats interesting on the K650 P/C.

There easy to find and would keep a bunch of these going for a while.

Bet it added some snort to it didnt it?

it really did add some snort; i am very impressed with this saw i dont have as many hours on it but it will be going fire wooding with me as soon as it drys out a little

I know that 543 is a mighty good saw but why did they make it look like a room heater? Please don't be insulted - I really would love one but we did not get anything like that down here in OZ.

Like Bo said, it is the latest saw in the P5000 family - and I agree with you about the looks - that it surely is a bad design, regarding the looks!

Oh well, I guess you can always find me hanging out over at the Poulan thread!!!:msp_sad:

Mike

Naw I'm heading up that investigation. Soon as we see pictures and proof, your in!

Absolutely, that would mean it also should fit my 1633B, right? :hmm3grin2orange:

I would think so.

I bet it did but is the porting different on the K jug?

Here is my P543, which I believe is the last of the 5000 family!
Bought it brand new in 2007.

Well, I tend to agree but I think it could grow on you after awhile. :msp_biggrin:

Post any pictures of any Partner saws and their brothers

Just found this Partner thread hiding in the sticky section.
Here's a picture of my P500. It's the first one I reach for, unless I need something larger...or smaller.

It's by no means new but a very dependable saw. I've got another one of these with damaged plastic salted away for parts and/or when the time comes, it has a nearly new engine.

Let's see some more Partners.

I'm by no means insulted :) I'm not all crazy about the design my self! I think the top cover looks kinda cool, but that starter cover just looks to cheap/homeowner to me!
And it was a cheap saw when I bought it! The engine is basicly a Husqvarna 55, and the AV is better! When I bought it, I paid 2000 dkk, at that time a 55 was about 4200 dkk! And it was my first real saw, after a re-badged Poulan junk saw! So it is a very special saw to me!

Well fellers,

Guess what my friendly neighborhood mailman left on my porch today???

It's not mint by any means but I think it is a pretty nice example.

Before anyone asks, that is sitting on a water maple that used to be in my front yard and no the 5000Plus isn't the saw that brought it down!LOL
